Downwards

At this hour, I call out to you, El Shaddai.

Turn downwards. Touch the ground, place bare feet on bare earth. Touch the ground, the streets where we live. Touch the ground, the earth upon which we live and breathe and have our being. Pray that our shared home is honoured and nurtured in increasing measure.

Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.

Chief Seattle

Remember you are dust and to dust you shall return. Turn away from sin and be faithful to Christ.

Ash Wednesday Liturgy

Make a note of a way in which you have connected with creation in the last twenty four hours through each of your five senses. How can you engage with the natural world today to nourish yourself more deeply?

O! My soul sits amid the soil this day to know God’s hand in all creation.

O! My soul sits amid the soil this day to know God’s hand.

O! My soul sits amid the soil this day to know God.

O! My soul sits amid the soil this day to know.

O! My soul sits amid the soil this day.

O! My soul sits amid the soil.

O! My soul sit.

O! My soul.

O!

In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him.

Psalm 95
